Michael Dennis

Michael Allen Dennis 55, went home to be with the Lord on October 28, 2016. He was born on September 9, 1961 in Columbus, the son of Thomas E. and Georgia (Clifton) Dennis. He was a 1979 graduate of Miami Trace High School, 1985 graduate of Circleville Bible College and was an ordained minister in Churches of Christ in Christian Union in 2000. He was preceded in death by his father, Thomas E. Dennis; maternal grandparents, Charles M and Annabelle Clifton; paternal grandparents, Cary “Doc” and Blanche Dennis; aunt, Mary Elizabeth Clifton and father-in-law, Frelan VanMeter. He is survived by his wife, Jincie Beth Dennis, whom he married in 1983; children, Sarah Elizabeth and her son, Eli, Jason (Stefanie) and their daughter, Eloise and Matthew (Melissa) their daughter, Jayden; mother, Georgia A. Dennis Shepard and step father, Norval L. Shepard; mother-in-law, Louise VanMeter; aunt, Margaret Bowdle; sister, Melanie (Joe) Dennis Pires, and their children, Aaron and Abby; as well as Cinda (Charles) Burks and their children, Charles II, Jessica, Connor and Jincie; Karen (Tim) Mitchell and their children, Eric and Kristen; Godson, Dante Leist. Mike was loved by many friends and members of the community. He worked for the State of Ohio Correctional Department and retired from the Department of Youth Services in 2013 after 30 years of service. Michael was a faithful servant of Jesus Christ, active leader at Crossroads Church and facilitated the Crossroads Overcomers Ministry from 2013-present. He was a multiple sports youth coach and Grand Champion Hog caller at the Pumpkin Show. He played Santa all over Pickaway County. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday November 3, 2016 at Crossroads Church with Pastor Tim Throckmorton officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call Wednesday from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. and Thursday 11-1p.m. at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Crossroads Overcomers Ministry.
