Michael Dowland

Michael “Mike” Charles Dowland, 74, of Circleville passed away on March 10, 2025. He was born in Flint, Michigan to Charles and Irene (Park) Dowland. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister Sandy Wilcox and father-in-law Bill Dountz. Michael is survived by his loving wife Sue (Dountz) Dowland; children Chris (Jeff) Homolka, Michael (Tracy) Dowland II, Jennifer (Tim McFarland) Pummell, Justin Pummell and Jenson Shoemaker; grandchildren Brad Homolka, Brooke Homolka, Makayla Pummell, Chance Dowland and Corey Dowland; 4 great grandchildren; siblings Patty “Whack” (Tom) Theeck, Rita (Carl) Badder, Ted Dowland, Jane Dowland, Janet (Wayne) Smith and Danny (Misty) Dowland; lots of special nieces and nephews; his best dog Beau; sisters-in-law Becky Emrick, Teresa Demjen, Mary (Gary) Bryant, and sister-in-law Diane Sines; brother-in-law Don (Hallett) Dountz and his mother-in-law Martha Dountz. Michael retired as a maintenance coordinator from West Rock in Lancaster and worked for 27 years for Georgia Pacific. He enjoyed restoring old cars and going up north to Michigan to go deer hunting with his brothers. Funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 13, 2025 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with visitation from 11-2.
