Mildred L. Ballou, 87, of Circleville, passed peacefully June 10, 2007 at her residence. She was born December 5, 1919 in Jackson Twp., Pickaway County, the daughter of the late William and Alta E. (Fee) Hoover. She was married to the late William E. Ballou who died in 1994. She was preceded in death by one sister, Mabel L. Bircher; brothers, Austin H. Hartley and Harley Hoover and 4 grandchildren. She is survived by 4 sons, Paul (Karen Sue) Ballou of Las Vegas,NV, William L. Ballou of Circleville, James (Mary Jo) Ballou of Circleville and Bruce E. (Louise) Ballou of Hide Away Hills Lancaster; 3 daughters, Martha Sharrett of Gallipolis, Carol Ann (Dan) Fout of Circleville and Barbara Smith of Kingwood, TX; 15 grandchildren; 33 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren. She was a gentle caring person who was completely devoted to her family. She cherished her husband of 57 ½ years and worked by his side in the family business. She enjoyed anytime she could spend cooking for her family and friends. For many years she was the "cookie lady" at church. She will leave a void that can only be filled by our memories of her gentleness. She was truly a blessing to all who knew her. She was a member of Good Shepherd Church. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with Rev. Ted Davis officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday and 1 hour prior to the funeral Wednesday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers the family request that memorial contributions may be made in her memory to Good Shepherd Church or charity of their choice.
