Milton O. Tootle, 83, of Circleville, died July 13, 2009 at his residence. He was born August 10, 1925 in Hayesville, the son of Harold E. and Ellen E. (Arledge) Tootle and the step-son of Charles Wallace. He served in the U.S. Navy from August 26, 1944 to June 3, 1946. He was on the USS LST 1104 in the South Pacific. He was awarded the Victory Medal-American Area Campaign Medal and Asiatic Pacific Area Campaign Medal (Bronze Star). He was preceded in death by his parents, step-father, 1st wife, Catherine Tootle, brothers, Robert Tootle and Glen Wallace and 2nd wife, Barbara Tootle. He is survived by his son, Harold Tootle of Junction City; daughter, Cathi (John) Elliott of Williamsport; step-daughters, Linda (Michael) Stephens of Lexington, KY, Ruth (Earl) Jones of Maysville, KY, Susan (Phillip) McGuire of Fredericktown and Karen (Jeff) Cracraft of Maysville, KY; 2 grandsons, Robb Elliott of Circleville and Joshua (Jessica) Elliott of Williamsport; step grandchildren. Robbie and Jeri Moore of Columbus, Willie and Macy Conway, Laura (Eddie) Baas, Zack and Cody McGuire, Whitney Jones and Nathan Cracraft; great grandchildren, Aaliyah, Emily, Mason and Peyton; sisters, Mary Ellen Troutman and Lulu Belle Shaw; several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday July 18, 2009 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, with Pastor Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Springlawn Cemetery with military graveside honors. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Berger Hospice.
