Nancy Lee "Honey Bee" (Hunter) Jackson, 77, formerly of Laurelville, passed away June 5, 2024 at the home of her son Adrian in Londonderry, Ohio. She was born August 14, 1946 to Guy John and Elsie Maye (Wynkoop) Hunter near Laurelville, Ohio.
She is survived by sisters: Dorothy Sharp, Susie Pickell and Donna Jean Huston; brother: Guy "Pug" Hunter; daughter: Angela "Hunter" Poling; sons: Adrian (Kim) Jackson and Donny (Becki) Jackson; grandchildren: Jessica, Daniel, Chris, Tyler, Cody, Cheyenne, and Gage; great grandchildren: Sorin, Connor, Charlie, Gryffin, Maximus, Sage and Wyatt; step grandchildren: Devan and Alex; step great grandchild Gracyn; her beloved fur baby Lu Lu; and many other family and friends.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 55 years, Donald Eugene Jackson last November; her parents: Guy and Elsie Hunter; brothers: Marvin, Fred, John, Glenn, Howard and George Hunter; sisters: Joann Corn and a stillborn sister that wasn't named.
She was the twelfth of thirteen children and graduated from Laurelville High School in 1964. She was a supportive wife of a volunteer fireman with decades of service. She worked as a teacher's aid at Rainbow School in Gibisonville and later at Laurelville Elementary School where she retired. She loved to learn what became of her former students and took pride in knowing she had a small part in it. She played piano at Bethel Church for many years in her younger days and was a member of the Ladies Aide. She enjoyed her vegetable and flower gardens as well as her collection of house plants. She was "kinfolk famous" for her potato salad, egg noodles, cinnamon rolls and Christmas candies. She loved to crochet, knit and sew. She was very proud of her angels made from glasswares. She loved to visit family that lived out of state and even took a greyhound bus a few times, once to Maine with four of her young grandkids in tow. I don't think there was anything she couldn't do. This obituary could be a book if I keep listing everything about my mom. There is just so much!
Sadly, she was diagnosed over a decade ago with stage 4 kidney cancer and fought a long hard battle with many life threatening complications along the way. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and friend. She loved spending time with her family, friends and enjoyed visitors. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her, especially her family. We all love you and will see you again on the other side. Give dad our love and let him know we miss him.
We wish to thank everyone involved with her care during her last years, especially Heartland Hospice and special caretaker and friend Margaret Allen. I would also like to personally thank my brother Adrian and his wife Kim for making her final year more enjoyable and care free. They also made it possible for me to spend more time with her over Memorial Day weekend in her last days. I am forever grateful for all you have done.  Funeral services will be held on Sunday, June 9, 2024 at 3:00 p.m. at Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville with visitation on Sunday from 1-3 p.m.
In lieu of flowers the family asks for donations be made to Wellman Funeral Home for her final expenses or in her memory to the Laurelville Volunteer Fire Department.
