Naomi Phifer Dade, 82 of Circleville, passed peacefully at her residence on September 14, 2011 with her loving family by her side, after a long and courageous battle with Alzhemiers. She was born on January 10, 1929 in Five Points, to the late John L. and Violet Phifer. Naomi was a member of Second Baptist Church of Circleville, where she held many offices, served on the city council, member of Business Women’s Professional, the Democratic Women’s Association, Common Pleas Court Advisory Board, CUSH Board, and Circleville EMT and was employed at Heck’s Dept. Store for many years. She was preceded in death by husband Emmitt L. Dade; son, Howard (Hodgie) Dade; brothers, John, Elmer, Raymond, Donnie and Robert; sisters, Mary Thornton, Wanda Johnston, Addie Bennett, Shirley Lynch and Betty Phifer. She is survived by daughters, Geraldine (George) Quinn of Circleville, Carolyn Brazil of Columbus and Brenda Dade of Circleville; sons, Gerald (Cheryl) Dade of Columbus and Emmitt S. Dade of Stoutsville; brother, Gary Phifer, Sr. of Circleville; 18 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren and many nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday September 20, 2011 at the Second Baptist Church with Rev. Charles Ferguson officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call from 4-8 p.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville.
