Ned Brant Elliott, 84, of Circleville, died July 15, 2010 at Brown Memorial. He was born December 19, 1925 in Hagerstown, MD, the son of the late Brant and and Louise (Fiery) Elliott. He was a WWII veteran drafted from high school to US Army Signal Corp. serving in France and Germany. With the help of the GI Bill, ROTC, Johns Hopkins University scholarship enabled his attainment of a Chemical Engineering Degree and served 17 months service stateside in U.S. Air Force during Korean War. He was hired by DuPont at the Buffalo facility for manufacturing assignments including cellophane and mylar prior to the Circleville startup, transferred to Wilimington, DE, accepted a 5 year Dupont Luxemburg assignment with family benefits such as: two first-class oceanliner trips (to & from Europe), five (2 week) ski vacations in Austrian Alps and lots of European sightseeing trips, accepted Circleville transfer in 1972. He was a downhill skier until age 82 and avid golfer with only 1 Hole in One. He is survived by his wife Joan (Catlin) Elliott; children, Sharry, Doug, Todd and Louise; grandchildren, Michael, Sarah, Aurelia, Amedeo and Jacob and brothers, Dean, Merle, Ralph and Ray. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Sunday July 18, 2010 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hills Memory Gardens with military graveside service. Friends may call from 2-4 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Community United Methodist Church Endowment Fund or Johns Hopkins Endowment Fund, Baltimore, MD
