Neil Merriman

Neil Lynn Merriman, passed away February 22, 2011 surrounded by family. He was born December 5, 1923 to Samuel Elgin and Annabelle Merriman. Neil wed Mary Rodgers in June 1957, who preceded him in death in 1996. Neil moved to Columbus, OH at that time and resided with his son. Neil is survived by his daughter Londa (Chuck) Wright and sons Michael, Robert (Tam), William (Terri), Terry (Sue) and Samuel (Tristan), 8 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren. Neil was the town barber in Circleville for 25 years, following in his dad’s footsteps at Merriman’s Barbershop on W. Main St. Later in life, he and his wife operated Joe’s Frosty Treat on N. Court St. Neil was a long time member of the Trinity Lutheran Church in Circleville. In life, Neil enjoyed hunting, fishing, warm sunshine and cookies. He proudly served in the U.S. Air Force during WWII as an airplane mechanic near London. Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Saturday February 26, 2011 at Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call from 1-4 & 6-9 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions given in lieu of flowers may be directed to Clintonville Community Resources Center, 14 W.
