Pastor Frank Waters Sr.

Pastor Frank Waters, Sr., 91, of Galloway, went home to Jesus on April 4, 2020. He was born on September 16, 1928, in Columbus, to George Sr. and Reta Waters. Frank was a pastor for over 50 years, and was most recently retired from Village Chapel Church. Frank was a loving husband, wonderful father, doting grandfather, and the greatest of the great-grandfathers. His greatest achievement in life was working in the ministry. He was God’s servant with a free spirit, and we praise God that he is home. His love will remain in our hearts forever. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his grandson, Dale Waters, and siblings, George Jr. and Charles Waters, Ellen Stilwell, Lucille Moore, and Dorothy Moore. Frank’s life was blessed by his children, whom he affectionately referred to as his precious jewels. He wed Shannan Kathleen Fraley and added their children, Andrew (Athena), Matthew (Jamie), Benjamin, and Sarah to his crown, along with grandchildren, Relann, Aria, Priscilla, Ava, Gavin, Levi, Alivia, Everly, and Maverick. His crown also holds children from a previous marriage, Frank Jr. (Janie) Waters, Tim Waters, and Joseph (Angela) Waters, and daughters, Irene (Bob) Hayes and Sally (Steve) Swayne, and grandchildren, Carl, Chrissy, Sheryl, Sarah, Solomon, Simeon, and Samuel, and 6 great-grandchildren. He is survived by his wife, Kathy, all of his children, 16 grandchildren, and 6 great-grandchildren. Kathy lovingly recalled her last memory with Frank: “The love of Jesus was in your heart, the suffering had left your face, and the peace of God was aglow upon your face.” A private graveside service will be held at Reber Hill Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions are suggested to the funeral home in Frank’s name. Wellman Funeral Home is handling their arrangements.
