Rachel Fortner

Rachel Fortner Brown was born September 6, 1960 to John and Shirley Fortner who preceded her in death.  She graduated from Logan Elm High School in 1978 and attended Franklin University in Columbus.  She retired from the State of Ohio EPA.  Rachel enjoyed traveling, bowling and movies and spending time with her beloved pet Bently.  She is survived by her son Joshua Brown, sister Becky Poling and brother-in-law Roger Schmitt and several nieces and nephews.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by sisters, Marilyn Fortner, Naomi Schmitt, Sharon Parker and brothers Richard, John and James.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, May 20, 2024 at 1:00 p.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with burial to follow in Green Summit Cemetery.  Visitation will be on Monday from 12-1.  The family would like to give special thanks to Erica for taking such good care of Bently and bringing him to visit Rachel.  In lieu of flowers donations may be made to Wellman Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses or the First Church of God Community Worship Center, 25822 State Route 159, Circleville, Ohio 43113.  Online condolences can be made to www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.
