Ray Young

Ray Young, 88, of Stoutsville, died May 15, 2012 in Circleville. He was born July 11, 1923 in Louisa, KY the son of James and Dovie (Pinkerton) Young. He was a 40 year member of Carpenter’s Local #200, lifelong farmer, WWII Navy veteran and member of Fairview United Methodist Church. He attended 25 reunions of the USS Pamanset AO-85. Ray was preceded in death by his parents, wife Rosemary (Green) Young, sisters Nola and Elizabeth Holbrook and brothers Watson, Gilmer, Earsel and Robert Young. He is survived by his children Gary (Connie) Young of Duluth, GA, William (Stephanie) Young of Stoutsville, Phyllis (Chip) Zawacki of Stoutsville and Mary Jo (Ron) Sexton of Circleville; grandchildren Stephanie, Adam, Courtney, Josh, Holly, Chad and Ashley; great-grandchildren Elliott, Sydney, Isaac, Aiden, Kaiden, Maddie and Lucas; sisters Edna Smith, Eileen McGiffin, Barbara Stump, Donna Stump and Joyce Jones; brothers Roy, Roger, Steve and Rick Young. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Saturday May 19, 2012 at Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with Pastor Keith Deel officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hill Cemetery with military honors. Friends may call from2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Friday. Memorial contributions may be made to Berger Hospice or Fairview U.M.C.
