Raymond Crawford

Raymond J. Crawford, 68, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2014 while playing golf in Circleville. Ray was born on March 18, 1946 in Circleville to the late Joseph and Dora (Schwalbach) Crawford. Ray was preceded in death by brothers, Bill and Robert “Bob”, brother-in-law, William Chadwell, and nephews Nick and Beau Crawford. He is survived by brother Dan (Angie) Crawford, sisters, Joyce Chadwell, Ruth (Frank) Banky, Nancy (Wayne) Clark, daughter; Cassandra (Jimmy) Arledge, granddaughters, Chelsie and Brooke Arledge RNs, companion Tina Raines, many nieces, nephews, a host of long-time friends including his former wife Beverly Crawford. Ray was a graduate of Circleville High School, served with the Ohio National Guard and had been a loyal member of the AmVets, Eagles, and a lifetime member of the Elks. He served for many years as a Circleville firefighter. He was well-known as a skilled craftsman, especially in home remodeling, and was a friend to all he met. Funeral service will be held on Thursday, October 9, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with burial to follow in Forest Cemetery where the Fire Department will conduct a farewell service. Friends may call at the funeral home on Wednesday from 2-8 p.m. and 1 hour prior to the funeral on Thursday.
