Raymond Mccann

Raymond Henry McCann, 81, of S. Bloomingville, went to meet his Lord, Tuesday August 3, 2010 at VA Hospital. He was born April 27, 1929 in Pickaway County, the son of Ransford Ray and Carrie (Fretwell) McCann. He served as PFC in M.A.S.H. unit #8055 in Korea. After moving to the S. Bloomingville area, he became a member of Salt Creek Valley Community Church. He was precede in death by his parents; brothers, Roy and Robert McCann; sisters, Betty Lou McCann, Ruth Louise Stone and Jennie Estella Martin; ex-wife, Goldie Tanner and wife of 31 years, Mary Elizabeth (Orihood) McCann and step-daughters, Carolyn Litteral and Becky Burlile. He is survived by sisters, Mary (Ted) Lane of Circleville and Dorothy Thurston of S. Bloomingville (with whom he made his home), step-daughter, Libby (Ryan) Scheffler of Aurora, IN; step grandchildren; great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 12:00 noon Saturday August 7, 2010 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville, with his minister and friend, Rev. James Vandagriff officiating. Burial will be in Hopewell Chestnut Grove Cemetery in S. Bloomingville. Friends may call from 10 a.m. until the time of service on Saturday at the funeral home.
