Rhonda Sue Newlan Burris, 40, of Kingston, passed away peacefully, Friday July 30, 2010 at the Pickering House in Lancaster following a short courageous battle with cancer. She was born February 24, 1970 in Chillicothe the daughter of Susan May and Jerry Eugene Althouse. On April 8, 1988 she married Burt Burris, Sr. who survives. Also surviving are her sons Robert “Buddy” Burris, Jr. and Christopher Lee Burris of Kingston, mother Susan Althouse and step-father Jerry Althouse of Chillicothe, brother Ronald “Bo” (Jill) Newlan of Hope Mills, N.C., sister Kristina (Tim Carl) Althouse of Chillicothe, mother-in-law Phyllis Burris of Circleville, special sisters-in-law Robin, Rachel, Jeanie and Becky, brothers-in-law Roger, Randy and Ray and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews cousins and others. She was preceded in death by her grandparents Virginia and William May, father-in-law Roger Burris and several aunts and uncles. Rhonda was an administrator with her family owned business, Burt’s Building and Remodeling. Prior to that she worked as a receiver at Tractor Supply in Circleville. She loved her family and friends and was looking forward to the birth of her granddaughter Lily Sue this fall. She was well known as the neighborhood mom opening her home to everyone especially Desiree, Kayla and special friends Shawn and Nathan. She was loved and adored by all who knew her. Funeral service will be held 10:00 a.m. Wednesday August 4, 2010 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with Rev. Chris Hildenbrand officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to the F.H. in Rhonda’s name.
