Richard Churchheus

Richard W. (Dick) Churchheus, 78, passed away on Thursday, March 6, 2014 at his residence after battling cancer for 8 months. Born December 15, 1935 in Hocking County, he was the son of the late Claude W. and Flossie (Wilson) Churchheus. He retired from Columbia Gas Company with 35 years of service. Richard served 2 years in the United States Army. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Geraldine (Morrison) Churchheus, daughter, Tammy (Randy) Burris, son, Richard (Melissa) Churchheus Jr., sister, Judy (Chuck) Smith, brother, Gary (Margret) Churchheus, 3 grandchildren and 5 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, 3 brothers, Thomas, Harry and Terry Churchheus, sister, Joanna Hart. Funeral service will be held on Tuesday, March 11, 2014 at 10:30 a.m in the Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville with Chaplain Jim Ferrell officiating. Burial will be in Tarlton Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home in Laurelville on Monday from 2-4 and again 6-8 p.m. Memorials are suggested to Berger Hospice.
