Richard P. Cook, 87, of Ashville, passed peacefully to join his beloved wife Ethel in heaven on March 11, 2009. He was born June 21, 1921 in Ord, NE, the son of Parker and Lela Cook. He was a graduate of Ashville High School, Class of 1939, member of Hopewell United Methodist Church and proudly served in the Army during WWII, served as an MP for 32 months in Australia and retired from The Herman Falter Packing Company. He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Ethel Mae (Reid) Cook; sisters, Fern Duemey and Fay McNamee and brother, Steve Cook. He is survived by his daughters, Marcia (Jim) Tussing of Columbus and Marla (Bruce) Rainer of Groveport; grandchildren and families, Jim, Mireille and Chloe Tussing, Patty, Sarah, Jessica and Megan Tussing, Brad, Janet, Branden and Brianna Tussing, Greg, Mindy, Spencer, Preston and Melia Tussing, Doug and Maria Tussing and Seth Rainier; sisters and brother, Ruth Cline, Micky Murray, Della & Ron Jewell and Jerry and Sue Cook. Funeral service will be held Saturday March 14, 2009 11:00 a.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Ashville, with Pastor Tina Fox officiating. Burial will be in Harrison Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call from 3-7 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Hopewell U.M.C. Scholarship Fund.
