Richard Sims

Richard Eugene Sims, 80, of Circleville passed away on February 8, 2022 surrounded by his loved ones and friends.  He was born on February 17, 1941 in Gallia County to Richard and Alberta (Mosier) Sims.  He had been owner and operator of Sims Trucking and M&S Ceramics.  Gene graduated from high school in Kingston where he excelled in all sports but especially basketball and softball.  Gene drove a truck for a living and then he and his step dad had a ceramic shop together for many years. Along with cocker spaniels, Gene, when his mom and step dads health failed he moved them to Circleville and cared for them until their deaths.  In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his step father Marvin McCain.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Friday, February 11, 2022 from 4-5 p.m..  Gene wanted to thank Dr. Nancy Alkire and staff for their care as well as his team from Promedic Hospice and hospice staff.  Online condolences can be made to www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.
