Richard Swope, Jr

Richard L. Swope, Jr., 61, of Darbyville, died November 24, 2011 at OSU Medical Center. He was born June 16, 1950 in Pataskala the son of Richard L. and Elizabeth Ann (Hewitt) Swope, Sr. He was a self employed golf cart repairman for 25 years. He was preceded in death by his parents; 2 infant children; sister, Cathy Swope; brothers, Billy and Albert Swope and grandparents, Albert and Rachel Hewitt and Hugh and Hazel Swope. Richard is survived by his wife of 37 years Mary (Simpson) Swope who he married on November 22, 1974, sisters, Rose (Kenneth) Souder, Mary (Bill) Nichols, Cindy Harriss, Margaret (Russell) Baker and Lori (John) Brannon; brother, David (Ann) Swope and his Darbyville and Suwanee Church families. Funeral services will be Wednesday, Nov. 30, 2011 at 1:00 pm at Darbyville Community Church with Rev. Denver Peters and Dave Adkins officiating. Burial will be in Muhlenberg Twp. Cemetery. Friends may call 4 – 8 pm Tuesday at the church. Memorial contributions may be made to Darbyville Community Church. Funeral arrangements under direction of the Wellman Funeral Home.
