Robert I. Elsea, born April 5, 1930, Circleville, Ohio deceased March 20, 2013, Flower Mound, TX, from Alzheimer’s Disease and Diabetes. He was preceded in death by his father, Asa Creighton Elsea; mother, Ruth Amelia Crable Elsea Carruthers; sister, Dolores Jean Elsea Rhoads. He is survived by his wife, Ann L. Thomerson Elsea; two sons and daughter, Robert E. Elsea, wife (Anne), daughter, Emma Elizabeth; David S. Elsea, wife (Cathy), daughter, Meredith Ann; daughter, Linda A. Elsea/Smith husband (Brandon), daughters, Ella Ruth and Sadie Kathryn. He enlisted in the US Navy upon graduation from Circleville High School, Circleville, OH, 1948, honorable discharge, 1952; graduated from Ohio State University, Bachelor of Science Degree 1959; Master of Education 1963. Formerly taught Industrial Arts, Ashville High School, Ashville, OH 1959-1961. Employed by the Federal Bureau of Prisons September, 1961-1985 retiring as Senior Executive Warden. Lexington, KY., Feb. 2, 1985. He worked in the following Federal Prisons: Chillicothe, OH; Terre Haute, IN; Ashland, KY; Seagoville, TX; McNeil Island,WA; Chicago, IL; Oxford, WI and Lexington, KY. Bob was a member of the Souther Hills United Methodist Church, Lexington, KY. Past member Lexington Lions Club, Lexington, KY; Life member Oleika Shrine-Brass Band; Notables Dance Band and Young at Heart Dance Band, Lexington, KY; 50+ year member Pickaway County Masonic Blue Lodge, Chapter, Council, Commandery; Circleville Order of Eastern Star; former member Community Medthodist Church, Circleville, OH. He has donated his brain to the Alzheimer’s Foundation for research. Visitation and Memorial Services will be held April 13, 2013, at Community Methodist Church, 120 N. Pickaway St., Circleville, OH 43113. Visitation 11 a.m. – 1 p.m. and Memorial service 2 p.m. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations in memory of Bob to any of the following charities: TTUHSC Garrison Institute on Aging, Brain Bank Program, 3601 4th St. Lubbock, TX 79430-9424; Shriners Hospital for Children, Lexington Unit, 1900 Richmond Rd.
