And God shall wipe all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death, neither sorrow, nor crying, neither shall there be anymore pain; for the former things are passed away Revelations 21:4. Bob passed from this world of strife on January 5, 2012 at the age of 85. He had a strong belief in God and Jesus Christ. He was a member of The First Baptist Church. Bob became a strong, courageous man through serving his country in World War II and risking his life as a member of the Columbus Police Dept. for 30 years. He was a Sgt. for 20 years. When he took an entrance exam at Ohio State University, he was told he could be anything he wanted to be. He loved farming and nature but he chose law enforcement. Bob was preceded in death by his son, Alan Robert Grant; parents, Hazel and Grover Grant; brothers, Jim and Daniel Grant; sister-in-law, Mary Grant and sister, Eleanor Grant. He is survived by his loving family: wife of 64 years, Opal (Kirby) Grant; daughter, Diana (Paul) Yeagle; grandson, Jesse Yeagle of CA; brother, Homer (Kay) Grant; sister-in-law, Jean Grant and many nieces and nephews. Special thanks to Michael Grant and Daniel Grant. Friends may call from 5 – 8 p.m. Monday and 12 noon – 1:45 p.m. Tuesday at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Graveside service will be held 2:00 p.m. Tuesday in Jackson Twp. Cemetery beside his son and eventually his wife. Love is Eternal.
