Robert E. Quincel, 93, of Circleville died December 20, 2016 at Pickaway Manor. He was born October 28, 1923 to Emery Quincel and Beatrice K. (Morrison) Quincel. He was a member of the Good Shepard United Methodist Church in Circleville. He was a lifetime member of th VFW and also a longtime member of the American Legion Post 134 and the Soldiers Monumental Association of Pickaway County. At age 16, Bob went to work for the Civilian Conservation Corp. (CCC) in Utah to support his family back home. He left for basic training the day after he turned 18 years old. He served in World War II in the 6th Infantry Division. This Division set a record for being in combat for 219 consecutive days in the Pacific Theater. Bob fought in the jungles of the Philippines and New Guinea. Bob was wounded in combat 3 times receiving 3 purple hearts, 2 bronze stars along with several other medals and commendations. Bob retired as a supervisor at the Defense Construction Supply Center in Columbus after 33 years. He is survived by his wife of 74 years; Phyllis M. (Robison) Quincel: His children Robert L. (Mary) Quincel, Patricia A. (Robert) Hartinger, Judith K. (Gary) Wilson and Terry M. (Susan) Quincel all of Circleville, 15 grandchildren, 31 great grandchildren and 7 great great grandchildren and brother Ronald (Helen) Quincel. He was preceded in death by his parents; brothers: Jimmy, Lawrence, Kenneth and Donald and by sister Dorothy. Funeral services will be held on Friday, December 23, 2016 at Noon at the Wellman Funeral Home with burial to follow in Forest Cemetery.
