Robert Smith

Robert Lee Smith, 61, of Circleville, died April 3, 2011 at Grant Hospital. He was born July 20, 1949 in Circleville, the son of Voyden and Reba (Frazier) Smith. He was employed by Claypool Electric for 19 years, member of Pickaway Lodge #23 F & AM, Aladdin Shriners, Columbus, OH, Pickaway Shrine Club and Scottish Rite Bodies in the Valley of Columbus. He loved to ride his motorcycle and travel the country. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Belinda M. (Smith) Rutter and in-laws, Fred & Mae Dowdy, Jr. He is survived by his wife, Katherine M. (Dowdy) Smith; daughter, Leslie (Matthew) Carver; grandson, Garrett, his special little buddy; grandson, Jacob and one on the way; sister, Carolyn (Charles) Hunt; brothers and sisters-in-law, Ronnie (Rozi), Perry (Nedda) and Terry (Jennifer) Dowdy and Jeri (Bobby) Thompson; several nieces & nephews and special friends, Bill & Penny Hixenbaugh and Jim & Patty Leach. Memorial service will be held 7:00 p.m. Thursday April 7, 2011 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with Masonic Services. Burial will be in Green Summit Cemetery. Family will receive friends 4-7 p.m. Thursday. Memorial contributions may be made to Shriner’s Hospital.
