Roger M. Diltz, 72, of Kingston, formerly of Circleville, died April 3, 2010 at Berger Hospital. He was born December 4, 1937 in Pickaway Co. the son of Virgil and Mary Etta (Reid) Diltz. He was preceded in death by his parents, beloved son Patrick David Diltz, sisters and brothers-in-law Retha (Emmitt) Eccard, Alice (Woodie) Clifton, Ruth (George) Grooms and Mary M. Diltz, brother Ralph Diltz and loving pets Jack and Jock. Roger was retired maintenance from G.E. after 46 years. He enjoyed participating in the G.E. bowling league, was an avid outdoorsman and Nascar fan. Every weekend he looked forward to us getting together to watch races with no particular favorite to win. In the outdoors he enjoyed fishing, hunting, shooting clay pigeons or just hanging out around the cabin. He spent his younger years fishing at places like the Ohio Erie Canal just outside Circleville to the lakes of Canada and Lake Erie as well as rabbit and pheasant hunting with his family and friends. He also enjoyed target shooting and plinking. Around 18 years ago he started deer hunting only shooting once and missing, then never finding the big one he was looking for it was just to get out there with his sons and friends. He would often get together with friends and family to shoot clay pigeons until out of birds, bullets or daylight whichever came first. We would like to thank all who helped in making days brighter for him. Roger is survived by his wife of almost 53 years whom he married July 19, 1957 Helen (Greenlee) Diltz, son Derrick Alan (Robin) Diltz of Chillicothe, step-grandchildren Jody (Cliff) Cost and Heather (Chris Wheeler) Barbee, 6 step great-grandchildren, sisters Clara (Robert) Dumm and Marilyn Zwayer (friend William McIntyre), brothers James F. (Lottie), Dale (Suzanne) and Karl (Elizabeth) Diltz all of Circleville, sister-in-law Geraldine (Hettinger) Diltz of Columbus, many nieces, nephews, cousins and many, many friends.
