Roger Sherman Ebert, 83 of Circleville, Ohio, passed away on March 28th, 2025, peacefully with family by his side. Born on September 9th, 1941, in Columbus, Ohio. He was a Loving Father to Karen (Randy) Burlew, Roger S. Ebert Jr., David (Tina) Penwell and Mary (Brad) Mathias and a Devoted Grandfather to Angela, Michelle, Reed, Leo, David, Noah, Tyler, Hope, Ben and Macy and has many grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his son, Roger Sherman Ebert, Jr.

Dad was hard-working and dedicated. He spent 35 years working as a forklift driver at Kroger Warehouse. Despite his many responsibilities, he always made time for his family and his friends. After retirement, he spent many years volunteering at many charities, dedicating his time to helping others. Dad also fought a tough battle with Cancer, and he won, and was with us for another 9 years.

Dad's hobbies and interests helped define who he was. He enjoyed fishing out on his boat. His love for woodworking was something he shared with his children, leaving a mark on us that will never fade.

Though Dad may not have liked being the center of attention, he deserves to have his long years of fatherly love honored. He was a man of kindness and generosity, and he left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. He was lovingly cared for by his family, especially his daughter Mary, whom he lived with, and ensured his comfort and well-being during his final years.

We find comfort in knowing that Dad's legacy lives on through the lessons he taught us, the love he shared, and the memories we will cherish forever. Although our hearts ache with his passing, we take comfort in knowing that we were able to provide him with the care and love he deserved.

The family will host a private gathering in his honor.
