Ronald Slager

Ronald E. Slager, 64, of Kingston, went to be with the Lord Monday March 8, 2010 at The James Hospital. He was born August 3, 1945 in Vinton County, the son of Robert and Aldena (Cassel) Slager. Ron as a retired truck driver and then worked part time at Sutherlands Lumber Company in Circleville. He graduated in 1963 from Laurelville High School and served his country in the U.S. Navy. He was preceded in death by his parents and half brother, Billy Jones. He is survived by his wife of 35 years, Thelma (Wilson) Slager; son, Jonathan E. Slager of Columbia, SC; granddaughter, Aaralyn Mosher; brother, David (Diana) Slager of Ashville; sister, Sarah Mae (Ted) Dearth of Portsmouth and dear friend, Becky Mosher. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Thursday March 11, 2010 at Crossroads Church with Pastor Lonnie Potts and Pastor Gary Ingo officiating. Burial will be in Springbank Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-9 p.m. Wednesday at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Memorial contributions may be made to Berger Hospice.
