Roscoe E. Blankenship, 78, of Circleville, died with family at his side August 5, 2010 at his residence. He was born June 28, 1932 in Kingston, the son of Elba and Goldie (Davis) Blankenship. He was a U.S. Army veteran of the Korean War, a member of the OOIDA, IOOF and an independent owner/operator of Blankenship Trucking for over 50 years. He was a member of the Northridge Church of Christ and a 1950 graduate of Atlanta High School in Atlanta. He was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Theresa Lynn Blankenship and brothers, Ralph and Richard Blankenship. He is survived by his wife, Loretta (Berry) Blankenship of 40 years; sons, Rick (Nancy) Blankenship, Tony (Mindy) Blankenship, Chris (Erin) Blankenship all of Circleville, Gregg (Theresa) Blankenship and Bryan (Leah) Davis of GA; daughters, Kristy (Mark) Martin of Circleville and Shelly Cramblitt of Laurelville; 17 grandchildren; 7 great grandchildren; sisters, Alice (Wilson) Lehman and June Boysel of Mt. Sterling; aunts, Lucille Adams of Lancaster and Wilma Johnson of Tuscan, AZ and several nieces and nephews. Funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday August 9, 2010 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, with Pastor Scott Trobough officiating. Burial will be in Springlawn Cemetery with military graveside service. Friends may call from 2-6 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Northridge Church of Christ.
