Roy Adams, 76, of Kingston passed away Thursday evening May 3rd after a valiantly fought battle with cancer. When he left us, he was at home surrounded by loved ones. He graduated from Pickaway School, class of 1955 and served in the U.S. Army for three years, receiving an honorable discharge. Roy was employed by DuPont in Circleville for 38 years, retiring in 1997 as an electrician.

Roy was a devoted Grandfather, loving Father, a beloved Uncle, and a good friend to many. He did his part to make all of us better people through his gentle sense of humor, wry wit, and quiet strength and it was these gifts he passed on to many of us in the family and to those he worked and socialized with for so many years. He made his part of the world a better place simply by passing through it.

He was preceded in death by his wife Norma, and brothers & sisters-in-laws Carl and Connie Adams, Russ & Katherine (Kitty) Adams, Homer and Yvonne Adams, Don and Alma Jean Adams; and one brother-in-law Earsel Young. He is survived by his son, Christopher, his daughter-in-law Cheryl, granddaughter Emma, and sisters Irene Young and Shirley (Ted) Raymond, both of Circleville as well as many nieces and nephews.

Calling hours will be 11:00-1:00 Saturday May 12, 2012 at Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. The funeral will be the same day at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Jim Pollard officiating. Burial to immediately follow at Mount Pleasant Cemetery, Kingston. Following the graveside service, all are welcome to share a meal with the family at Living Water Church, 20 Third Street, Kingston.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations in the name of Roy Adams to Adena Hospice, LiveSTRONG, or the cancer research charity of your choice. The family would like to especially recognize the love and support of the Adena Hospice staff, without whom the family would not have been able to cope nearly as well.
