Roy E. O’Day, 85, of Ashville went home to be with his Lord on November 17, 2014 surrounded by his family. Roy was born November 20, 1928 in Ashville, Ohio. Preceded in death by his parents Lucy and Hayes O’Day, sister Mabel Congrove, brothers, Virgil, George & Woodrow, loving wife of 65 years, Dorothy (Fetherolf) O’Day in 2012, son-in-law; James Watson, numerous sisters and brothers in laws. Roy is survived by sons; Robert (Lillian) O’Day, Charles (Yvonne) O’Day, Michael O’Day, daughters; Mary (Dave) Watson, Barbara (George) Lewis, 13 grandchildren, Nicki (Rob) Bender, Kelly (Julie), Charles Jr., Jessie, Joshua O’Day, Ruth, Martha, Naomi, Jason, James B. Watson, Toni (Tim) Tootle, Rebecca (Tony) Kovach, Deborah (Gregg) Miller, 20 great-grandchildren, one great-great granddaughter, beloved sister-in-law, Helen O’Day, numerous nieces and nephews, numerous special friends. Roy retired from Country Mart and Scioto Downs. Previous years he worked for Armour Meat Company, Borden’s Ice Cream, and grocery retail. Roy enjoyed attending Ashville Church of Christ in Christian Union where he felt blessed to worship the Lord with great fellowship. Roy had a great love for all animals, especially canines. Roy was a loving husband, father and grandfather who loved spending time with family and friends. He was always there for those in need. Roy is so loved, he will dearly be missed by his family and all who knew him. The family would like to thank Mount Carmel Hospice and Palliative team for their excellent care and support for Roy and his family. Funeral service will be held on Friday, November 21, 2014 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ashville Church of Christ in Christian Union, Ashville, Ohio with Pastors Don Blankenship and Ken Fuller officiating.
