Ruby Eleanor Winland, 88, of Laurelville quietly passed away Friday, December 04, 2015 at 2:40 a.m. to meet with her heavenly father. She was born October 5, 1927 in Fairfield County to the late Floyd H. Wolford and Jessie Lucille Shaeffer Wolford. Ruby is survived by her husband of 70 years; Denver Winland, one son; John (Barbara) Winland, 3 grandchildren; John Ulrick (Terri) Winland, Trevor (Stephanie) Winland and Wesley (Connie) Winland, two brothers; James Wolford of Seattle, WA, Herbert Wolford of Kissimmee, FL, four sisters; Kitty Ruth Stebleton of Lancaster, Clara Gritter of Daytona FL, Helen Williams of Kissimmee, FL and Mary Quillin of Winter Haven FL and by many, many nieces, nephews and friends. Ruby was preceded in death by son; Denver “Dickie” Winland Jr., two brothers; John “Jack” Wolford of Ohio and John “Butch” Wolford of FL and by one sister; Lucille Wilson. Ruby attended the Laurelville First Church of God where she loved helping and working with children in crafts and with Bible School. She also was a volunteer Teachers Aid helping Mrs. Fox at Saltcreek Elementary for many years. Everyone knew her by “the woman who rides the motorcycle.” She will be greatly missed and remembered by family, friends and neighbors. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, December 8, 2015 from 4-7 p.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville. As per Ruby’s request she will be cremated and ashes will be buried next to her son “Dickie” at Tarlton Cemetery at the family’s discretion at a later date.
