Russell Lutz Sr., 92, of Circleville passed away on April 10, 2017. He was born on February 28, 1925 in Pickaway County to Harley and Althea (Craigo) Lutz. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by siblings Dorothy, Earl, Cecil ,William, Maxine and Florence. Russell was a graduate of Saltcreek High School in 1943, owned and operated local businesses including Marathon Station and Lutz Value Center and retired from PICCA and was an avid stock car driver in the 50’s and 60’s and was a regular patron at McDonalds. Russell is survived by his wife Donna (Woodward), children Russell “Butch” (Sharon) Lutz, Beverly Crawford, Dawn (Greg) Myers, Kalynn (Chris) Ackison, grandchildren Tammy Griffin, Anna Vanmetre, Cassie Arledge, Carl and Tyler Myers, Raelinn Stewart, 7 great grandchildren, 1 great great grandson, brothers Harley Jr. and Tom, sister Pauline ,special dog Sophie and by special nephew Bruce Rutherford. Funeral services will be held on Friday, April 14, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville with Pastor Kevin Gruver officiating. Burial will be in Floral Hills Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. Memorial contributions are suggested to Good Shepherd United Methodist Church.
