Ruth Lowe

Ruth E. Lowe, 87, of Stoutsville, Ohio passed away on January 18, 2018 surrounded by her family. She was born on May 9, 1930 in Pittsburgh, PA to Arthur and Emma (Bangert) Richter. Ruth married Alan M. Lowe in 1952 and he preceded her in death in 2005. Ruth spent many years managing the Pickaway Country Club’s clubhouse in Circleville and was also an Administrative Assistant at Nationwide Insurance in Columbus. Ruth was an avid bowler in many bowling leagues for countless years and was very active at the Pickaway Senior Center where she loved to line dance. She was a dedicated member of the Heidelberg United Church of Christ in Stoutsville. When she wasn’t traveling or spending quality time with her family she was enjoying her time gardening, baking in the kitchen or making cards and crafts for others.

Ruth is survived by her children Alan Lowe of Irvine, Calif.; Gary Lowe of Circleville; Marsha (Emery) Skarupa of San Diego, Calif.; Janet (Brad) Christy of Amanda, and John (Theresa) Lowe of Circleville; 11 Grandchildren, Shannon McComb, Matthew (Rebecca) Lowe, Brandon (Sassy) Lowe, Emily (Mike) McComb and Kelly Skarupa, Megan, Eric (Haley) and Lauren Christy, and Jessica, Phillip and Sarah Lowe; Great-Grandchildren Kyle and Kenzie McComb; Scarlett Grace McComb; and by her sisters Dorothea Weinheimer and Marian (Jack) Maurer. The funeral service will be held at 12:00 p.m. Friday, January 26th, 2018 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, Ohio with Dr. Rev. Marilyn Miller officiating. The burial will be in the Maple Hill Cemetery in Stoutsville. Family and Friends may call from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday, January 25th at the funeral home and one hour prior to the service on Friday. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Central Ohio Alzheimer’s Association.
