Ruth Mary (Dunn) Palmer, of Washington C.H. departed this world to go be with her Lord and Savior on Sunday, April 19, 2009, at the age of 105.
Ruth was a resident of Country Glenn for the last nine years. Born January 6, 1904 in Greene County, the daughter of John and Leah (Lewis) Dunn.
As a young child she traveled to New Mexico by train and later returned by covered wagon. Ruth spent her life as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and homemaker. She was also a wonderful cook and seamstress.
Ruth was a member of Heritage Memorial Church and later South Side Church of Christ. Ruth was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer E. Palmer; brothers, James, Arthur and Frank Dunn; sister, Gladys Elofson; and son-in-law, Duane French.
Mrs. Palmer is survived by sons, Donald (Harriett) Palmer Sr., Ronald (Barbara) Palmer Sr. both of Washington C.H., daughter, Joan French of London, Ohio; seven grandchildren and several great and great, great grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Friends may call at the Wellman-Kinzer Funeral Home in Washington Court House on Wednesday, April 22 from 4-8 p.m.
Funeral services will be held on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 11 a.m. at the South Side Church of Christ. Pastor Danny Dodds will be officiating the service. Interment will follow at the Washington Cemetery.
