Scott Skinner

August 20, 1955 – September 24, 2011. Scott was born in Fayette County the son of John and Mildred (McFadden) Skinner. He was preceded in death by his parents; infant son, Michael; and brother, Jeff Skinner. He is survived by his loving wife of 32 years, Kathy (Adams) and son Ryan (April Olmstead). Also surviving are sister-in-laws Karen (Paul) Knisley, Susan (Dane) Patterson, and Sheryl Skinner; brother-in-law Don (Bonnie) Adams; nephews Jase and Wesley Skinner; nieces Beth (Ryan) Maurer, Amy Adams, Sarah and Rachel Hanley, and Laney Patterson; great-nieces Hayley and Brooke Maurer and great-nephew Gabriel Maurer. Scott also leaves behind numerous aunts, uncles, cousins and friends whom he loved dearly. He will be sadly missed by his loyal companions, Riley, Ollie, and Joey with whom he enjoyed many walks through the countryside.
Scott was a member of the Circleville Church of Nazarene and was a lifelong Pickaway County farmer in the Williamsport and Atlanta area. He was a Perry Township Trustee and served as President of Circle of Caring, past President and Board Member of the Pickaway County Farm Bureau, served on the New Holland Cemetery Board and was active in many other civic organizations. He was a former volunteer firefighter for New Holland Fire Department.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Sept. 29, 2011 at 10:30 am at the Circleville Church of Nazarene 2264 Walnut Creek Pike with Pastor Wendell Brown officiating. Burial will follow in New Holland Cemetery. Friends may call Tuesday from 4 – 8 pm and Wednesday from 2 – 8 pm at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville.
Scott was a man of great faith who found joy in helping others. In lieu of flowers, the family wishes for donations to be made to Circle of Caring, the Circleville Church of Nazarene or Williamsport Church of Nazarene.
