Shirley Hanes

Shirley M. Hanes, 90 of Laurelville, died December 5, 2010 at her residence. She was born February 19, 1920 in Lucasville, the daughter of Jesse and Cora (Thompson) Cordle. She was a member of the Northridge Church of Christ. Her faith and love flowed so freely it was felt by anyone who ever had the pleasure of knowing her. There isn’t anyone who met her that did not receive a blessing by her continuous and unconditional love and prayers the kind God wants in all of us. She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles H. Hanes, Sr.; son, Cecil T. Hanes; grandson, Robert Sorenson; great grandchildren, Tamara and Zacheria; 4 brothers and 5 sisters. She is survived by her daughters, Betty Sorenson of Circleville and Mary (Mike) Rhoades of Laurelville; son, Charles (Donna) Hanes, Jr. of Lancaster; 5 grandchildren, Barry (Julie) and Chris (Joyce) Hanes, Pam (Bob) Montgomery, Sara (Tim) Zeller and Cecil T. (Jennifer) Hanes, Jr. and great grandchildren, Courtney, Cody, Cassie, Chloe, Christopher, Calvin, Joshua, Stephanie, Mariah, Lindsey and Bailey Funeral service will be held 10:30 a.m. Thursday December 9, 2010 at the Northridge Church of Christ with Pastor Scott Trobough officiating. Burial will be in Tarlton Cemetery. Friends may call from 4 – 8:30 p.m. Wednesday at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Memorial contributions may be made to Berger Hospice.
