Shirley Taylor

Shirley Christine (Goodman) Taylor, 76, of Canal Winchester, died February 22, 2012 at the Kobacher House. She was born May 24, 1935 in Stoutsville, the daughter of Paul and Masel (Jacobs) Gentzel. She was a member of the Pontius United Methodist Church. She was an avid Buckeyes football fan, Nascar fan, a wonderful cook and artist and enjoyed gardening, country music and family celebrations. She was preceded in death by her parents and daughter, Debbie Poling. She is survived by her children, Darrel (Cathy) Goodman, Sharon Smith and Brenda (Cameron) Sexton; 7 grandchildren, Chad (Kristie) Steele, Matt (Danielle) Goodman, Heather Goodman, Jennifer (Mike) Venet, Katrina (Noah) Robbins, Cassie Sexton and Zachariah Poling; 6 great grandchildren, Taylor Steele, Isabelle Hedges, Allee Steele, Derek and Grant Goodman and Nate Chamberlain and brother, Warren (Judy) Gentzel. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Saturday February 25, 2012 at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, with Pastor Bob Elliott officiating. Burial will be in Forest Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of service. Memorial contributions may be made to Kobacher House, 800 McConnell Dr., Columbus, OH 43214 or the funeral home in Shirley’s name.
