Stanley Stevens

Stanley Stevens, 90, of Columbus formerly of Circleville died on Monday, March 23, 2015. He was born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 7, 1924. Mr. Stevens was a WWII Army Air Corps veteran and was a navigator on the B17 Liberator stationed at Rickenbacker. Stanley was a member of the Columbus Developmental Center Board, Metropolitan Housing Authority, 50 plus years as director of Pumpkin Show Announcers, 1st Eucharistic Minister of St. Joseph Catholic Church, was a board member of Pickaway County MRDD, member of Knights of Columbus 4th Degree Assembly #1761, charter member of Knights of Columbus Council 5297 where he was Past Grand Knight. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife; Violet Mae (Hamilton) Stevens. Stanley is survived by his children; Stanley Michael (Kathy), Charles Joseph, and John Anthony (Carla) Stevens, Tereasa Lynn (Daniel) Filipski and Elizabeth Ann Stevens, 9 grandchildren; Jeff, Tracy and Brad Stevens, Laurie Petrone, Douglas and Kelly Filipski, Elizabeth Reeves, Natalie Keita and Megan May. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, March 26, 2015 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Joseph Catholic Church with Father Ted Machnik officiating. Burial will follow in St. Joseph Cemetery. Friends may call on Wednesday from 5-8 p.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home. Memorial contributions are suggested to St. Joseph
