Born February 1, 1943 in Hocking Co., Clara Sue Ebert age 67, the daughter of Lester and Marjorie (Johnston) Ebert, left this world to go home to Jesus December 23, 2010. She was at her home in Laurelville, surrounded by loving family members. Sue leaves behind her loving husband of 50 years Larry McNichols, two beloved daughters Tami (Steve) Atwood of Stoutsville, Tabitha (Richard Durst) Mowery of Hallsville, two grandchildren to whom she was completely devoted, Hannah and Pierce Mowery and special family friend Doug Miller, brothers Charlie (Sondra) Ebert and Tim Ebert, sister Alice Dille-Smith (Dave Smith), sisters-in-law Betty (Fred) Bush, Margaret (Paul) Good, Tina Disbennett, Robbye (Jerry) Myers, Kathy (Rick) Heminger many special nephews, nieces, cousins and one aunt Joann Johnston. In addition to her parents Sue was preceded in death by her son Todd McNichols, brothers Roger and Tom Ebert and sister/brother-in-law Nancy (Buck) Bainter. Sue attended Laurelville First Church of God from infancy throughout her life. She enjoyed the special bond of friendship formed with Pastor Harry Mullins his wife Jo and daughters and has been blessed by the ministry of Rev. Steve (Cathy) Hayes. She attended South Bloomingville’s Benton Twp. School for eleven years and was a 1960 graduate of Laurelville High School. She remained good friends with classmates from both schools for life. Sue was an avid sports fan who attended all her grandchildren’s games and swim meets. Well known as the co-proprietor, with Mick and Nancy Hart, of the local restaurant The Village Café, Sue leaves behind a wealth of friendships formed with employees, co-workers and patrons. She was a member of the Laurelville ladies Monday Card Club, Wigwam Squaws and Bowling League (B.J. Electric) of Chillicothe. Her generosity to local charitable functions and schools is renowned. The café sponsored The Village Café softball team, she especially helped fight cancer by being a 16 year and 12 year supporter of Relay-4-Life for Fairfield and Hocking counties, respectively. Sue will be sadly missed but not forgotten by her loving family, friends and community. Funeral service will be held 1:00 p.m. Monday December 27, 2010 at Wellman Funeral Home, Laurelville. Burial will follow in Green Summit Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to funeral. The family request in lieu of flowers contributions be made to Laurelville Church of God or your local Relay-4-Life American Cancer Society organization.
