Susan Duran

Susan A. Duran, 39, of Circleville, Ohio passed away Friday October 25, 2013 after a courageous battle with cancer. She was born March 9, 1974. Susan accepted the Lord as her Savior on August 25, 2013. Susan was welcomed into heaven by all her loved ones that have passed before her. She is the beloved wife of Tito Duran, united in marriage on July 24, 1999. She is the daughter of Joanne Pence and surrogate mother, Marcella Crosby. Susan graduated from the Circleville High School. She worked for Rumpke for many years prior to her passing. Those that knew Susan would describe her as one amazing, caring, giving and compassionate person. She was full of life to the very end. She had an infectious personality that touched many lives. For the past two years, Susan fought this cancer battle with everything she had and never allowed the disease to take away from who she truly was. She had an innate gift of embracing life and enjoying every moment of it. She was an inspiration to many and never wanted her loved ones to focus on the cancer but to focus on the moment at hand. She loved spending time with her family and friends. She would give up everything to help anyone in need. She believed in second chances and helped many throughout her lifetime. She would want to be remembered as a survivor and not a victim. She will be remembered for her smile and childlike giggle that could light up a room. Susan is survived by her husband, Tito Duran of Circleville; six children, Tyler (Taylor) Sawyer of Circleville, Destany Sawyer of Columbus, Mercedes Duran and Tierra Duran of Circleville, Cherina (Juan) Ovalle of Columbus and Tito Jr. of Kingston; four grandchildren, Trinity Sawyer, Bastian Ovalle, Malia Ovalle and Autumn Duran; her mothers, Joanne Pence and Marcella Crosby both of Circleville and three brothers, Stanley Crosby of Circleville, Wendell Crosby of Laurelville and Clarence Pence of Kentucky. Funeral services will be held Thursday October 31, 2013 at 1:00 p.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville, with Rev. Ted Davis officiating. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Hitler-Ludwig Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Wellman Funeral Home in Susan’s name.
