Susan Ruth (Leonard) Holbrook, November 8, 1959- November 19, 2013.
Beloved Wife, Mother, Sister, Daughter, Aunt, Grandmother, Great Aunt and friend to many, passed away peacefully at Berger Hospital with her husband by her side. She was a loving, faithful wife of 29 years to Mirl “Rusty” Melvin Holbrook Jr. She is survived by her husband, Mirl “Rusty” Melvin and three children, Eric David (Kimberly Lynn), Zachary Mirl (Kassandra Michelle), and Megan McKim. A blessing was born the same day as she passed, her Granddaughter Roslynn Ruth, whom was named after her. She is also survived by brothers and sisters, Janet McKim (Bill) O’Malley, Catherine Gwen (Don) French, Steven Earl (Julie Anne), Eric Frank (Carolyn). She was an Aunt, mentor, and confidante to each of her nieces and nephews, Stephanie and Evan French; Kevin, Michael, and Katie O’Malley; Nicholas and Ashleigh Leonard; and Jack and Riley Leonard. She was also survived from her husband’s side, his brothers and sisters: David (Cathy) Holbrook, Donald (Nancy) Holbrook, April (Mark) Lundberg, and Angela Holbrook. She was an Aunt and a supporter to her nieces and nephews as well, David (Jennifer) Holbrook; John (Julie) Holbrook; and Brad Holbrook. She was a remarkable Great Aunt as well to Ashley, Christina, Samantha, and Mark Lundberg; Rachel and A.J Holbrook; Blain and Paisley Holbrook; Trent, Kiley, Braden, and Madelyn Holbrook; Donald Jr, and his daughter Isabelle and Brittney Holbrook. She is preceded in death by both of her parents Arnold David Leonard and Mary Elizabeth (Swarts) Leonard and her husband’s parents as well, Mearl Melvin Holbrook and Mary Ellen Keaton (Holbrook). She graduated in 1978 from Westerville South High School. Later went to college at Otterbein University and graduated in 1982 with a Biology Major. She then furthered her education at Hocking College and graduated as a paramedic in 1984 and began work a year later for the State of Ohio until 1991 as an Industrial Hygienist. She loved volunteering at CASA and selling tickets at her children’s home high school, Logan Elm. There will be a celebration of life to honor her and cherish every memory that we each had with her on Saturday, November 23, 2013 from 2-5 p.m at the Circleville Nazarene Church and from 5-8 p.m. at the residence, 19790 Ringgold Southern Rd. Circleville. Memorial contributions may be made to Multiple Sclerosis, 651 G. Lakeview Plaza Blvd. Worthington, OH 43085. Arrangements were completed by Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville.
