Virgil Leach, 77, of Winter Haven, Florida went to be with his Lord on June 1, 2012. Born in Fayette County on August 17, 1934 to Clifford and Mary (Hyer) Leach, he was one of nine children. He attended Bloomingburg School. He was an avid golfer and bowler in his later years. He spent most of his adult life in Westerville, Ohio before moving to Winter Haven in 1978. As a devout Catholic, he was a member of St. Ann’s Church in Winter Haven, a long time member of Winter Haven Moose Lodge and American Legion Post 34. He was preceded in death by both of his parents, and his wife of 41 years, Louise (Quinn) Leach, the mother of his 2 children, Kathryn Luetta (Davis) Leach of Springfield, one brother, Clifford “Al” Leach of Wilmington and by one sister, Dorothy Tillis of Washington C.H.
Mr. Leach is survived by his daughter, Pamella Leach, his son Martin (Karen) Leach both of Springfield, five sisters, Josephine Cartwright of Springfield, Mildred Ruth of Washington C.H., Geneva (Jim) Kuebler of Bloomingburg, Marcella Jane (Arnold) Clay of Jeffersonville, and Phyllis Leach of Grove City, one brother, Forest Leach of Washington C.H., 8 grandchildren, Tanya, Cheryl, Ricky, Elizabeth, Tim, Jeremy, Erica, and Taylor all of Clark County, three great-grandchildren, Layla, Aidan, and Naethyn, special nephew, Daniel (Karen) Robinson of Winter Haven, special friend “Salty” of Winter Haven that the family would like to give a special thanks to and by multiple nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many other friends in Ohio and Florida.
Funeral services for Mr. Leach will be held on Thursday, June 7, 2012 at 1:00 p.m. in the Wellman-Kinzer Funeral Home with burial to follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, Circleville.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Thursday from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00.
