Virginia “Ginnie” Jessup Hritz, 87, passed away peacefully with her family on January 30, 2017. She was born August 11, 1929, in Winchester, Indiana to Harry and Garnet Jessup. She moved to Lancaster, OH as a young girl, and graduated from Lancaster High School in 1947, where she was Homecoming Queen and World Premier Queen of the movie “Green Grass of Wyoming.” She was a classmate of her future husband, George (Bud) Hritz. They were married for 66 wonderful years. Virginia was an active gardener, and was a member of Pickaway County Garden Club, Shawnee Arrangers, and a charter member of Gardenwood Garden Club. She loved to play golf, both with husband Bud and the ladies. She was a member of the Ladies Golf Association at Pickaway Golf course. Ginnie was an accomplished seamstress, and helped to make costumes, as well as participate in, the Berger Hospital High Fever Follies. She was also a member of the Community United Methodist Church in Circleville. Ginnie is survived by her loving husband, George “Bud” Hritz, daughter Leigh (Dave) Webb of Circleville, and Michael Hritz of Orlando, FL. Also surviving are grandsons Ian (Hillary) Webb of Ashville, OH, Nick (Danika Killian) Webb of Chicago, IL, and Matt Helsel of Gary, Indiana. Ginnie is also survived by brother Bob Jessup of Lancaster, OH, sister-in-law Sue Crook of Athens, OH, several nieces and nephews and many friends. She was preceded in death by her parents, and sisters Shirley Cook, and Marijune Long. Loving cremation has taken place. Friends may call at the Wellman Funeral Home from 4:00-6:00 on Thursday, February 2, 2017 or 10:00-12:00 on Friday, February 3, 2017. A memorial service will be held following Friday’s visitation hours with Pastor Tad Grover officiating. The committal of ashes will be at Forest Cemetery in Circleville at a later date. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made to The Community United Methodist Church, 120 North Court Street, Circleville or The Mary Virginia Crites Hannan Park through the Pickaway County Community Foundation at ww.yourpccf.com or PO Box 3, Circleville, OH.
