Virginia Owens

Virginia L. Owens, 87, of Circleville, departed this life on July 15, 2012. She was born November 28, 1924 in Fairmont, WV, the daughter of the late Frank and Rebecca J. Hale. Ginny was preceded in death by her loving husband of 49 years, Walter C. Owens; son, Walter Charles, Jr. and siblings, Harvey, Elizabeth, Jean, Bill, Robert and Marjorie. She is survived by her daughter, Lois (Michael) Thompson, son, Gary M. (Christi) Owens, grandsons, Michael Temple and Benjamin Owens; granddaughter, Alyssa Danielle Owens; step granddaughter, Jillian (Nathan) Manson; also siblings, Margaret, Irene and Jack. Ginny was a bookkeeper for Scioto Coca Cola Bottling Co. She enjoyed bridge with friends, aquaflex at the YMCA and Bible study at Community United Methodist Church. Her winning smile and kind and generous heart will be missed by all. Graveside services will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday July 19, 2012 at Forest Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to Stefanie Spielman Cancer Research Center, 1145 Olentangy River Rd., Columbus, OH 43212 or Berger Hospice. Arrangements were completed by the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville.
