Ward Morris, 91, of Washington C.H. passed away on Friday, December 21, 2012. He was born on July 3, 1921 in Fayette County to Marion and Eva (Mongold) Morris. He retired from Willis Lumber Yard in 1987. Mr. Morris was raised from the age of 2 to the age of 24 at Fayette County Children’s Home. He also had attended every sporting event for Washington Blue Lions from 1947 until ill health prevailed in 2011. In 2007 Mr. Morris was inducted into Washington Court House Blue Lions Hall of Fame. He was a member of McNair Presbyterian Church, Eagles Lodge and Commission on Aging.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife, Betty (Elliott) Morris in 1969, one son, Max Wayne Morris, five brothers and two sisters.
Mr. Morris is survived by his daughters, Judy (Tom) Watts, Debbie (Fred) Howe both of Washington C.H., five grandchildren, Whitney Pavey, Steve Watts, Tiffany Watts, Anthony and Derick Howe, eight great grandchildren and by one great, great grandchild.
Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, December 23, 2012 from 1:00 p.m. until 6:00 p.m. at the Wellman-Kinzer Funeral Home. The funeral then will be held on Wednesday, December 26, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home with burial to follow in Washington Cemetery.
