William L. “Bill” Archer, 79, of Circleville, went to be with his Lord on August 17, 2013 after a 15 year battle with Alzheimer’s Disease. He was born on May 2, 1934 in Adelphi, the son of James O. and Eva Ruth (Barr) Archer. He was an U.S. Army veteran, a 1952 graduate of Walnut High School, retired from E.I. DuPont and a member of Emmett Chapel United Methodist Church. He was preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren, infant Archer and Terry Cordle, Jr.; brothers, Melvin, Lowell and Orval and sister, Eleanor Fausnaugh; He is survived by his wife, Connie (Strausbaugh) Archer; children, William L. (Teresa) Archer, Jr. of Circleville, Nancy (Terry) Cordle of Stoutsville and Brian (Kellie) Archer of Chester, VA; grandchildren, Aaron Cordle, William Archer, III, Joshua Cordle, Marah Archer, Ridge Archer, Emily Cordle and Lauren Archer; step grandchildren, Stephanie (Ryan) Davis, Tim (Stephanie) Cordle and Jeff (Kate) Cordle; sister, Martha Malin of Tipp City; special friends, Ken and Brenda Graf. Funeral service will be held 1:30 p.m. Thursday August 22, 2013 at Emmett Chapel U.M.C. with Pastor Aaron Cordle officiating. Burial will be in Green Summit Cemetery. Friends may call from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday at the Wellman Funeral Home, Circleville. Special thanks to Berger Hospice Staff, especially Chaplain Jim Ferrell and Kim. In lieu of flowers, donations in Bill’s memory can be made to the Emmett Chapel UMC Building Fund or Alzheimer’s Association Circleville Walk, under the Archer/Cordle Warriors.
