William Yates

William R. “Bill” Yates, age 76, of Circleville, died on January 16, 2019, at Riverside Hospital.  He was born on August 13, 1942, in Chillicothe, Ohio to Alberta and Clifford Yates.  He graduated from Atlanta High School in 1960.  On June 22, 1963, he married the love of his life, Phyllis (Toto) Yates.  He retired from PPG Industries in 2003 after 36 years of service.  He is survived by his loving wife of 55 years, Phyllis, daughter Kathryn (Doug McClain), sons Richard, Timothy (Angela) and Michael (Tina); grandchildren Ashley, Seth (Samantha), Evan, Jared, Mackenna, Tim (Samantha), Hunter and Hallie; great grandchildren Tanner and Brooklyn; sisters Shirley Purdom, Beverly (George) Purdom, Linda (Sal) Lizard, Monica (James) Ramey, Sue (Herman) Clark; brothers Jerry (Linda) Yates, Kenneth Yates, Mark (Rita) Hendrix; sister-in-law Betty Yates.  He was preceded in death by his parents, brother Robert Yates, and nephew Rowdy Yates.  Bill enjoyed spending time with his family, driving his golf cart, going to auctions and watching videos on his ipad.  He was the best husband and father anyone could ask for.  He will be deeply missed.  Funeral services will be held on Monday, January 21, 2019 at 11:00 a.m. at the Wellman Funeral Home with Father Ted Machnik officiating.  Burial to follow in St. Joseph’s Cemetery.  Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.   Memorial contributions are suggested to Emergency Clearinghouse Food Pantry.  Online condolences can be made to www.wellmanfuneralhomes.com.
